Horley Arson Attack

An appeal into an arson attack in Horley has been renewed by Surrey Police.

The fire took place after two items believed to contain accelerants were thrown through windows of the property on Roffey Close at around 8.30pm on Sunday, 1 December.

A number of enquiries have been made in the local area and detectives would now like to trace the occupants of a small, old-style, dark coloured hatchback car which was seen in the area at the time.. Anyone who saw this vehicle on the day of the offence or in the days prior to it should also contact detectives with information.

Sports clubs in Surrey are set to benefit from RideLondon cash

Leatherhead and dorking gymnastics club are among 10 clubs to have more than 380,000 in grants.

The money was awarded by the London Marathon Charitable Trust.

Reigate and Banstead Council to Invest in new Merstham Facilities

Reigate and Banstead Council are investing £2.6 million in new shops, homes and community facilities in Merstham.

The council’s investment is part of a £13.3 million scheme to regenerate the portland drive area of nottingham in partnership with Raven Housing trust and Surrey County Council.

A member of the council said this was a great example different Surrey organisations coming together as one team to improve people’s lives

Clothes Bank Thefts

A man from Crawley has been charged with thefts from charity clothes banks in Brighton.

Jeffrey Bond, 38, unemployed, of Apsley Court, Bewbush, Crawley, is due to appear on bail at Crawley Magistrates Court on Wednesday 18 December

He is charged with theft on the 18 November of clothing and shoes from two charity banks.

Christmas Carol Concert in Crawley

Northgate Primary School pupils join Crawley Residents for Carol Concert

Thirty pupils from Northgate primary school joined residents from four of Crawley council’s sheltered housing schemes including The Brook, Hollybush Close and Attlee House for a Christmas Carol concert.

At the concert, Father Christmas handed out mince pies, biscuits, sweets and chocolate to the performers and audience.

The concert was attended by the mayor of Crawley, Councillor Bob Burgess, who said it was fantastic to see everyone getting into the Christmas spirit and to see so many different generations coming together to sing carols
