Crawley residents warned of burglaries targeting gold

Residents are being reminded to keep their homes secure after a spate of burglaries in Crawley.

Gold jewellery, cash and electrical items are among the items stolen during 11 burglaries across the town.

Detectives believe the break-ins are linked and urge witnesses to come forward.

High performance vehicles have been sighted in the vicinity of roads where the burglaries occurred, including a white Ford Focus ST.

Over the past eight weeks there have been burglaries in Pound Hill, West Green, Northgate, and Three Bridges.

Thieves have been targeting jewellery and gold items in particular, often leaving other less valuable items behind.

Crawley Town have one more chance to secure their League One status in their final match against Coventry City at home on Sunday.

Manager Dean Saunders is encouraging all fans to email their support before the game and has promised that he’d post the messages on the dressing room wall.

The email address is feedback@crawleytownfc.com

The match kicks off at 12:15 at the Broadfield Stadium
