Award for information leading to convictions in Three Bridges

The family of a victim who was attacked in Crawley have put up a reward for information leading to a conviction.

A 22 year-old woman was attacked at LB1 Bar in Gales Drive, Three Bridges back in October.  She was approached by three women who struck her in the face several times.

Other guests in the bar had to restrain the attackers around 11.30 the evening of Friday 10th October.

Teenager arrested on suspicion of assault in Horsham

A teenager has been questioned over an attack on a couple with learning difficulties in Horsham.

The 17 year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault following the incident last week, and released on bail.

The victims – a man and a woman both in their twenties – were at Horsham bus station on 25th November just before 7 o’clock in the evening.  A group of teenagers arrived in Worthing Road and began throwing sweets at the couple.

One of the teenagers then approached the man, who also had physical disabilities, and started hitting him.  The woman was pushed out the way whilst her companion was grabbed by the throat.

Firearm Incident in Redhill

A man was arrested yesterday morning (30 November) after two people were threatened with what is believed to have been a firearm in Redhill on Saturday afternoon (29 November).

The incident occurred at a private property off Brighton Road near the BP Petrol Station at around 3.30pm.

No-one was injured and the weapon thought to have been used in the offence was found nearby

The suspect, a man in his 40s, remains in police custody at this time.

Men Jailed for Tilgate Attack

Two men have been jailed and face deportation, for attacking night fishermen in Crawley.

Modestas Kubilius, 24, a builder from Crawley and his friend Gintas Piscelinas, 26, unemployed from London both pleaded guilty and were jailed for a total of four years and 34 months respectively at Lewes Crown Court on November 21st.

In the early hours of Sunday, May 11 three men were night fishing at Tilgate lake when they were approached by Piscelinas and Kubilius. An argument ensued and the men attacked one of the victims with an air pistol, shooting him at point blank range.

Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt but police have told us that the victims have suffered badly from anxiety following on from what happened.

Weekend Football

Gavin Tomlin scored his first goal in 17 games to help Crawley draw against Chesterfield in a game which ended in a 21-man brawl and two red cards.

But The Reds’ Izale McLeod and Chesterfield’s Daniel Jones were then both sent off in the injury-time incident.

Elsewhere in the Ryman League, Merstham won 3-2 at Three Bridges, while the match between South Park and Walton Casuals was postponed after a pitch inspection.
