Fun and Fitness at Redhill Memorial Park

Residents of Redhill are being invited to a free day of Fun and Fitness this weekend.

To celebrate the £1.5 million redevelopment of Memorial Park, Reigate and Banstead Council has organised a festival.

Childrens’ activities; demonstrations and taster sessions for sports coaching programmes, as well as family entertainment and stalls will be on offer between 11am and 3pm on Saturday.

Surrey County Council Award

A prestigious award has been presented to Surrey County Council.

The Society of Information Technology Management has named Surrey’s website as the Best in Local Government across the UK.

The Society (Socitm) found the website was ‘a joy to use’ and praised the County Council for embracing people’s need to access information on mobile devices.

Firework Warning

People are being reminded of the dangers of fireworks in the run up to Guy Fawkes night.

It’s after a stray firework set alight a hedgerow in Orde Close in Crawley at the weekend.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene.

Crawley Cemetery Consultation

Little Trees in Crawley could become the site of a new cemetery.

The council-owned land is currently used as a campsite for the Guides however it is now being earmarked as an area large enough to cater for demand for up to 50 years.

A variety of assessments were carried out including traffic impact; any wildlife or protected species using the area and a ground investigation checking water levels.

The Guides have agreed to move from Little Trees to Tilgate Forest Recreation Centre.

A consultation is running until November 11th.

Anyone who wants to have their say should visit www.crawley.gov.uk/cemetery and fill in the eform.

Missing Crawley Woman

Police are growing concerned for a woman missing from Crawley.

Hannah Spraget who’s 24, was last seen by her mum and sister on Tuesday (October 21) around 4pm in the town but they have not heard from her since.

She’d been staying in West Green and is described as around 5′ 10″, slim, with very long dark brown wavy hair and has tanned skin. She was last seen wearing a black coat, black trousers or leggings and long black boots.

It’s believed she’s still in the Crawley as she has lots of connections in the town.
