Aircraft Noise near Gatwick

A far narrower flight corridor and aircraft being held over Redhill are two of the reasons for increased noise near Gatwick.

As complaints about the increased noise from aircraft have poured in Crispin Blunt, MP for Reigate visited Gatwick to discover the cause.

Accident in Redhill

Seven people were taken to hospital on Wednesday morning after a car crash in Redhill.

At about 10:40am, a black VW Golf was travelling with a green Volvo Estate in convoy in convoy along Axes Lane.

The Golf crossed the carriageway and collided with a grey VW Golf travelling in the opposite direction.

Sussex Burglaries

A 26 year old man and 24 year old woman have been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries at homes across Sussex.
The pair were questioned after homes in Crawley, Henfield, Storrington and Billingshurst were broken into in May, June and July.

Among the items stolen were electrical equipment, jewellery and cash.

The man and the woman were questioned before being released on bail until 5 September.

Three Bridges FC friendly result

Following the Three Bridges manager Paul Faili’s new role as interim chairman, the team beat Dorking wanderers 1-0 last night.

The goal came from a stunning volley from Abu Touray in the last of their pre-season friendlies.

Faili has taken on the role from Paul Terry who stepped down after a year in the position.

He said that he is massively proud but that it’s not a position he wants permanently, adding that anyone who has the necessary experience and qualifications should come forward for the position.

Illegal immigrants found in lorry on M25

16 suspected illegal immigrants have been stopped at an M25 service station in Surrey.

The men were found in the back of a refrigerated lorry after the driver reported hearing someone in the back.

All men are thought to be from Ehtiopia and none needed medical treatment.

They have been arrested on suspicion of entering the country illegally.
