Crawley Crime Figures

Crime figures in Crawley have fallen again over the last 12 months.

Figures from the independent Office for National Statistics show that since 2010 recorded crime in Sussex has fallen by 13 per cent.

There has also been a fall in violent crime across the whole country with fewer people going to hospital with injuries from violent incidents.

Benefit Concert – Freeworld/Nebulous

Saturday night saw a full house at the Freeworld benefit concert at Betchworth village hall raising money for Ollie Lovis

Ollie who is two and a half was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour in October and has been receiving treatment in America

Around 140 people enjoyed the concert, which raised over £2,000.

For the last set the band were joined by The Castaways, together they performed a song written by Freeworld called Nebulous.

Freeworld recently spoke to Paul Tizzard and Rachael Clow on Susy Radio about the benefit concert and you can hear this and the song here.

Priory Park Sport

A festival of sport is due to take place in Priory Park Reigate next Sunday, May the 4th.

The event involves demonstrations and advice on over 30 sports and a giant inflatable slide.

Sports include cycling, tennis, rugby, hockey, archery, basketball and many more.

Weekend Football

Substitute Garry Thompson headed a late winner on Saturday as Bradford City beat Crawley Town 2 – 1. The Reds are now in 14th place in league one with two games to play.

In the lower leagues, there were victories for Horley, Three Bridges and Merstham. It wasn’t all good news with losses for Crawley Down Gatwick and South Park, while Redhill suffered a nightmare 7 nil defeat at Corinthian Casuals.

Ride London Grant

£242,000 has been given to sports clubs and community playgrounds in Surrey thanks to Ride London-surrey

30 groups have benefited from the grants of up to £10,000 from the London Marathon Charitable Trust
