Fundraising Lunch

A fundraising lunch hosted by the Mayor or Reigate and Banstead has raised of £1,400 for local charities.

Nearly 100 women from the borough attended the charity event on Friday at Kingswood Golf and Country Club in Sandy Lane.

Cllr Dr Lynne Hack held the event to raise money for Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and Surrey Crime Stoppers.

Guest were treated to a talk from Philip Birkenstein, from the St Petersburg Collection of Theo Faberge Creations who also brought along some beautiful examples..

Two Charged Following Horsham Attack

Two men have been charged in connection with an attack on a woman in Emms Lane, Horsham on February 18.

54 year old Karl Cruise, a british man living in the brittany region of france, has been charged with attempted murder.

Self employed Bruce Killick from Horsham has also been charged with conspiracy to murder.

Both have been remanded into custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on March 17.

6 Rescued from Crawley Fire

6 people have been rescued from a fire which broke out in a block of flats in Crawley.

Crews from Crawley and Reigate attended the scene at the start of the week after fire alarms sounded and smoke was seen emerging from the building on Springfield Road.

3 people were rescued by crews from ground floor exits; and a disabled woman was removed from the 3-story block of flats via a window.

2 more people escaped the ground-floor blaze via windows before fire crews arrived.

People were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene by paramedics.

The fire is believed to have been accidental.

Merstham Burglary

Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary following an incident in Merstham.

A man in his late teens was threatened with a small knife when offenders broke into a caravan parked on private land off Weldon Lane the evening of 26th February.

It is believed he offenders and victim knew each other.

Two boys aged 16-17 years have been released on bail until April.

Burglary Charges in Redhill

Two people have been charged in connection with an aggravated burglary in Redhill.

The pair were arrested on Friday afternoon following an incident which happened at the block of flats known as The Dome, on Dome Way, at around 1am on Thursday.

Lee Turner, 20, from Reigate and James Greig, 21 from Redhill were charged with aggravated burglary and were remanded in custody.
