Missing Horley Man Located

A man who absconded from a secure hospital unit in Horley has been located.

Luke Elsmore, 23, who disappeared from Farmfield Hospital in Horley on Friday, 27 December was located yesterday in Worthing.

Police would like to thank members of the public for their assistance with this.

Firefighters Strike in Surrey

The Fire Brigades’ union will be striking again on Friday the 3rd January,

This comes after the strikes which took place on New Year’s Eve

During the strikes on 13th and 14th of December there were half the number of fire engines compared to normal service

Surrey County Council has a contingency contract with private company “Specialists group international” to help keep residents safe. The crew have received training and non-striking personnel will be giving emergency cover.

Crawley Town v Swindon

Crawley Town will be taking on Swindon town today with Kick off at 15.00

Crawley will be without forward Billy Clarke, who serves the second match of his three-game suspension for his sending off against MK Dons.

Midfielder Danny Bulman is also out after surgery on the cheekbone injury suffered in the same match.

Bletchingley Post Office Robbery

Armed Robbery in Bletchingley

Detectives from East Surrey CID are appealing for information following an armed robbery at Bletchingley Post Office in the High Street on Tuesday, 31 December.

At around 6.15am, a man entered the store and threatened two members of staff, with what is believed to be a firearm before restraining their hands and feet. It’s believed a sum of money was taken from the till, as well as scratch cards and cigarettes.

Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak with in connection with the armed robbery (below)

Theft from Crawley House

Thieves steal Jewellery in Crawley

Thieves struck last Sunday at a house in Edrich Road, Crawley and stole 2 laptops, a camera and several items of jewellery. Some of the jewellery taken were two gold rings – one shaped like a hand with a diamond on the cuff and the other a wedding ring with chevrons around it. The rings hold sentimental value for the victim.

Sussex Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen something, or have any information, to contact them on 101 or email 101@sussex.police.uk quoting serial 1717 of 23/12.
