Flooding chaos in Horley

Winds of over 60mph and torrential rain brought disruption to both roads and rail travel in the Surrey and North Sussex area in the days leading up to Christmas.

These pictures taken at Langshott in Horley are typical of the chaos caused in the SUSY Radio area.

Taxi Driver Assaulted Near Horley

A taxi Driver has been assaulted near Horley

Surrey Police are appealing for information.

The assault took place after the driver picked up passengers, 2 males and 3 females, outside Moka nightclub in Crawley at around 2am on Saturday morning.

He then took them to the Black Horse Pub on Reigate Road, Hookwood and arrived here at around 2.15am.

The taxi is described as a white Ford Galaxy and the passengers refused to pay their fare on arrival.

A fight broke out between the passengers and the driver and he was left with facial and hand injuries which required hospital treatment

Anyone with any information on the attack is urged to contact surrey police on 101.

A22 Collision in Forest Row

Witness Appeal for A22 Collision

Witnesses are being asked to come forward following a collision on the A22 at forest row yesterday morning.

Police are seeking anyone who saw a black ford fiesta being driven south from east Grinstead.

The car was involved in a collision with a Skoda car at 9.20am.Fortunately those involved received only minor injuries.

Anyone who saw the way the Ford Fiesta was being driven before the collision is asked to contact police on 101.

Surrey Streetlight Replacement

Surrey streetlight scheme set to finish a year ahead of schedule

A scheme to replace Surrey’s orange streetlights with nearly 90,000 brighter energy-efficient lights is on course to finish almost a year ahead of schedule next April.

The project’s designed to save around £12 million over 25 years will also cut light pollution because the new lamps direct light downwards.

The new lamps are also controlled by computer so lighting can be varied as needed, rather than being turned on or off at fixed times of day.

Missing Horley man found

A man who went missing on Sunday 22 December has been found in the Horley area.

Stuart Walker, 47 disappeared after he left East Surrey Hospital before he could be treated for a serious head injury.
