Last week a private ceremony took place at the Town Hall where she received the award from the Mayor, Councillor Eddy Humphreys, in the company of her family, friends, and representatives from various local football clubs she has supported over the years.  Millie said she is “grateful” to be given the honorary title of the place that has become her home.

She becomes the first woman to hold the title in the Borough’s fifty year history.

Tandridge District Council is holding a consultation on the naming of the Lingfield and Crowhurst ward.

The Council is required to hear residents’ views before changing the ward name to Lingfield, Crowhurst and Tandridge.  A boundary change was approved prior to the local elections in May meaning the parish of Tandridge is now in the Lingfield and Crowhurst ward and no longer part of Oxted North and Tandridge.

The consultation is open until the 4th November – survey.zohopublic.eu/zs/pfBP6v
