Couple Win Bid to Run Redhill Cafe

A café in Surrey is set to reopen in July after a couple have been chosen to run it.

Guy Hassell and Kate Chisnall put in a successful bid to run The Pavilion Café in Redhill’s memorial park, who are going to rename the venue, Florrie’s, after their daughter.

Work has now started on renovating the establishment, although no firm opening date has yet been given, but the couple have said they can’t wait to get the doors open soon and meet our customers.

Crawley Armed Forces Day 2024

This year’s Armed Forces Day will take place on Saturday 29th June in Crawley’s Memorial Gardens.

The event will take place between 10.30am and 3pm with the Surrey and Sussex Drum and Bugle Corps leading a procession of standard bearers.

Speeches, flag raising, and live entertainment are just some of the things on offer for the day.

The event is organised between Crawley Borough Council and the town’s Civil Military Partnership, to raise public awareness of the contributions made by those who have served in the Armed Forces.

Did You Witness an Assault in Crawley?

Sussex police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Crawley.

On the 4th March officers were called to the incident in Friary Way where a 56 year old woman was found to require hospital treatment following an assault by another woman.

Prison For Drug Dealer Operating In Redhill

A man has been sentenced to three years imprisonment for possession with intent to supply class A drugs, following his arrest in Sainsbury’s car park in Redhill.

Asad Muhammad from Thornton Heath came to the attention of officers on patrol in Redhill whilst sitting in a car which appeared to have been in a collision.  When asking after his welfare, officers searched him after they became concerned about his behaviour.  He was found to be in possession of 32 wraps of heroin. Police arrested him and he was sentenced at Guildford Crown Court last month.
