Harlequin Theatre May Stay Closed Until 2030

It’s possible that the Harlequin Theatre in Redhill could take up to five years to reopen.

RAAC Concrete was discovered in the building in 2023.

According to a report by the Local Democracy Reporting Service, Reigate and Banstead Borough council who own the property say that the theatre will potentially remain closed until 2030 while they carry out ten million pounds of safety refurbishment work.

The council says it is looking for a range of sites to fulfil the theatre building’s roles, including a cafe, audition spaces and performance venues.
