Horsham FC Return to the FA Cup

Crawley Town move up to 11th place in the League 2 table after winning 2-1 at home to Harrogate Town on Saturday.

Dorking Wanderers held AFC Fylde to a 3-3 draw having been 3-1 down at half time. 

Horsham Football Club is back in the FA Cup!  Barnsley FC confirmed they fielded an ineligible player in the first round proper replay against Horsham, which Barnsley won 3-0.  After Barnsley didn’t exercise their right to appeal, the FA expelled them from this year’s competition.  Horsham FC will now face Sutton United in the second round proper on Saturday 2nd December at Gander Green Lane.

In League 2, Crawley Town lost 1-0 away to Barrow AFC on Saturday.

Dorking Wanderers gained a much needed 3 points in just their second league win since the start of October.  Dorking won 2-1 over Boreham Wood at Meadowbank.  Marc White’s men move up to 15th in the National League table.

Dorking Wanderers lost their National League match 6-0 away to Gateshead.

In the Isthmian South East Division, Three Bridges drew 3-3 away to Herne Bay but remain top of the table.

Crawley Town lost 2-1 against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.  The Reds slip to 14th in the League 2 table.

Dorking Wanderers won their National League match 2-1 over Aldershot Town at Meadowbank.

In the Isthmian League South East Division, Three Bridges lost 4-0 away to Lancing in their first defeat of the season but still remain top of the table.    Merstham won 3-2 at home to Sheppey United.  The much needed 3 points, at last lifts the Moatsiders out of the relegation zone.

Dismay at FA cup fixture change

A West Sussex football club has said hundreds of supporters will be unable to attend one of the biggest matches in its history following a fixture change.

The FA Cup first round tie between Barnsley and Horsham FC has been moved from Saturday 4 November to Friday 3 November, at the request of South Yorkshire Police.

Mark Barrett, Horsham’s vice chairman, has written an open letter to the force, stating his “dismay” at the decision.

In a 142 year history, this will be the fifth time the club has reached the first round.
