Surrey Council celebrate Ride London turn out

Surrey County Council are celebrating the impressive turn out at the weekend’s RideLondon – Surrey event.

The cabinet member for community service, Helyn Clack said she’s delighted the wind and rain didn’t quash the determination of nearly 21,000 cyclists who turned out for the event.

She added that watching olympian Sir Bradley Wiggins and waves of amateurs tackle the difficult route was magnificent.

The bad weather yesterday meant the RideLondon – Surrey 100, had to be cut to 86 miles, missing some parts of the route.

Three Bridges FC friendly result

Following the Three Bridges manager Paul Faili’s new role as interim chairman, the team beat Dorking wanderers 1-0 last night.

The goal came from a stunning volley from Abu Touray in the last of their pre-season friendlies.

Faili has taken on the role from Paul Terry who stepped down after a year in the position.

He said that he is massively proud but that it’s not a position he wants permanently, adding that anyone who has the necessary experience and qualifications should come forward for the position.
