Crawley Town FC just getting started

Crawley Town FC captain, Ben Gladwin, says everyone at the club is
looking forward to next season.

Speaking after their last game of the campaign against Swindon, the
midfielder said the whole team feels they are only just getting started.

Despite the 2-1 loss the Reds managed to avoid relegation following a string of recent good results.

Manager Scott Lindsey praised the fans for their support throughout the season saying they were like no other fans and it was them who entertained the team.

Anyone for Tennis?

Worn-out tennis courts have been given a new lase of life and will soon be opened to the public once more.

The courts at Ifield tennis club have been resurfaced and painted following months of fundraising.

The club will be hosting an open day on Saturday 13th May where the Mayor of Crawley Councillor Jilly Hart will cut a ceremonial ribbon to officially declare the courts open.

Everyone is invited to attend on the day when the courts will be available from 11.30 to 4pm where you can play for free.

Crawley Town boss optimistic for clubs future

Crawley Town boss Scott Lindsey is optimistic after guiding the club to League Two survival.

The reds secured safety with a game to spare with a goalless draw at home to Walsall on Saturday.

Lindsey left Swindon to replace Matthew Etherington at Broadfield Stadium in January and led them out of the League Two relegation zone.
He has set his sights on silverware to repay the faith of their fans

Sussex cricketer picks up four awards

Sussex Cricketer, wicketkeeper-batsman Oli Carter, has picked up four awards last week at the Newcastle City Cricket Club at their end of season presentation night.

Oli spent his winter playing Club Cricket for Newcastle City where his performances led to him being awarded the Newcastle District
Cricket Association Player of the Year award and last week he was
recognised by his peers at the Club’s awards night.

Oli won the Players’ Player, Wicketkeeping Award (most dismissals),
Player of the Year and Most Runs in Grade awards. His highest score of the campaign (96) came against Wallsend, the eventual winners of the 1st grade competition.
