The weather once again took its toll on the area’s football at the weekend.

Rugby World Cup Venues

The Borough of Reigate and Banstead has made the approved List of Team Bases for Rugby World Cup 2015

Bases on the approved list are not guaranteed to host teams but will be used to provide the competing nations with their Team Base options.

The joint bid is one of 65 to meet the criteria needed to make it onto the approved list for the chance to host one of the 20 teams that’ll compete in the six week tournament.

The borough’s bid includes recently revamped Old Reigatians Rugby Club, in Park Lane, as a training base, Donyngs for swimming pool and gym facilities with Hawthorns School, in Bletchingley an additional training facility.

The final list of Team Bases will be confirmed mid-2014 following completion of team visits and selection.

The Inter Junior School Cross Country Race – Reigate

The inter Junior school cross country race between St Mathews, Sandcross, St Josephs, St Johns and Wray Common schools took place on the afternoon of Thursday 30th January on a very muddy Wray Common in Reigate.

The event was organised by Liz Micalowska from Wray Common School and approximately 300 children from year 3 to year 6 took part.

The event was absolutely fantastic, and although the parents supporting the event were certainly faced with “Mud” just about everywhere, the enjoyment on the childrens’ faces said it all. For some their first competitive race.

Each school raced in teams

Neil Munday was there:
