Dorking Wanderers Football Club’s offer to purchase the freehold of its home ground will be discussed at Mole Valley District Council’s Scrutiny Committee next week.
Meadowbank community football facilities are owned by the Council and leased to the Surrey County Football Association. The site is used by other sports clubs as well as soft play and cafe facilities on the site.
The Council has issued an update after a number posts appeared on social media about the situation; it states the exact details of the financial offer must remain confidential. The Council says any sale would require the consent of the two sporting bodies that contributed to the construction of the facilities, and there would be a condition for ongoing community use of the football stadium.

Three Bridges won their South East Division match 4-1 at home to Haywards Heath. East Grinstead Town lost 3-1 away to Faversham.
Elsewhere, Redhill won 4-2 over Fleet Town.
Horley Town’s match against Badshot Lea was postponed due to standing water on the pitch at the New Defence.
Crawley Town are enjoying their run of five games unbeaten since Lewis Young took over as interim Manager. The Reds move up to 19th place in the League 2 table following their 1-1 draw away to Bradford City on Saturday.

Colchester was leading in the first half with a goal from Newby. A last minute goal from Crawley’s Nadesan left the first half with an equaliser.
Crawley took the lead 24 seconds into the second half with a strike from Tilley. But Colchester salvaged a point in the 62nd minute
