Top scorer leaves Crawley Town FC

Crawley Town Football Club have confirmed striker Kwesi Appiah has joined Colchester United on loan until the end of the season.

The striker has made five appearances for Crawley this season, having finished as the 2021/22 top goal scorer.

Speaking on Kwesi’s loan move, Kevin Betsy said: “Kwesi is an outstanding professional, and we have loved working with him, but we could not guarantee him the match minutes his quality deserves. He will be missed by us all at the club, and wish him well with Colchester.”

Ahead of his departure, Kwesi said: “Thank you to everyone who welcomed me as part of the Crawley town family. The endless support from has been touching. There are so many special people who make the club what it is.
I will see you all soon. Best of luck for the season.”

Local Football

Merstham are out of the FA Cup after losing their preliminary round replay 2-0 away to Sevenoaks on Wednesday.  

Following their second round Carabao Cup victory over Fulham earlier in the week, Crawley Town are looking for their first league win this season against Rochdale tomorrow.

Dorking Wanderers travel to Solihull Moors. Dorking are currently in 6th place in the National League table.

Crawley knock Fulham out Carabao Cup

League Two team Crawley Town knock Premier League team Fulham out of the Carabao Cup with a 2-0 win. 

Goals from Tom Nichols and James Balagizi gave the hosts victory, with the full-time whistle prompting a pitch invasion by supporters.

Crawley sit 23rd in League Two – 84 league positions below their opponents – having lost four of their opening five league matches this season.

Their next match is a League Two game against Rochdale.

Reds ready for AFC Wimbledon

Crawley Town FC’s manager insists they are ready to get points in their match against AFC Wimbledon tomorrow.

Despite the Reds recent loss to Northampton Town, Kevin Betsy says fans will see they are prepared and focused for the clash.

The home game starts at 3pm on Saturday.
