Sussex have signed fast bowler George Burrows on a short-term contract for the first month of the season.

Burrows, 23, has been out of contract since leaving Lancashire at the end of last season.

He made two first-class appearances for the club in the 2020 Bob Willis Trophy, taking four wickets.

The right-arm bowler will be available for Sussex’s first four rounds of the County Championship, starting against Nottinghamshire on 7 April.

Sport: Crawley Town’s injury woes a chance for others

Crawley Town’s Tom Nichols says the current injury situation at the club is giving other players a chance on the pitch.

Echoing boss John Yems, the striker says it is just something they have got to deal with and other players are stepping up.

During a press conference he said nobody feels sorry for you in football and you have to just get on with it.

He added, having so many off injured is giving other players a chance to get on the pitch and show what they can do and push for a place in the team.

Sport: Crawley Town boss says injuries part of football

Crawley Town Boss John Yems is not worried about the amount of players off injured.

Speaking before their match against Port Vale tomorrow Mr Yems says it is important every player pulls their weight.

“We aint cursed, you just gotta come through it all, it’s like swings and roundabouts and we’re on the bumper cars at the minute but it’s just one of those things, you go through it.

“We’ve only got one squad so everyone’s got to be available, if you’re not fit enough, put a tracksuit on and go for a run when you get home, instead of sitting around playing your Playstation, get out and get yourself fit.”
