Football Update

Crawley Town won their League 2 match 1-0 at home to Barrow on Saturday.  This is their first match since the Club’s  takeover was announced this week, by US cryptocurrency group WAGMI United.

Sutton United were back at Gander Green Lane after their EFL Trophy Final disappointment at Wembley last weekend.  Sutton won 1-0 over Leyton Orient.

Merstham slip to third from bottom in the Isthmian Premier League table following their 2-0 defeat away to Potters Bar.  Horsham won 3-0 at home to Haringey Borough.

EFL Trophy Final: Rotherham v Sutton United

Sutton United lost to League One Rotherham in the EFL Trophy Final yesterday. 

It was Sutton’s first Wembley visit for 41 years.  With a 2-2 draw at full time after Rotherham equalised in the 96th minute, it wasn’t to be for Sutton with the match ending 4-2 to Rotherham after extra time.04

Sutton are back in action on Saturday for their next League 2 fixture hosting Leyton Orient.

Crawley Town Football Club Confirms Dannie Bulman’s Retirement

Crawley Town Football Club legend, Dannie Bulman, has officially announced his retirement from professional football. 

In a career spanning 20 years, Bulman made over 500 club appearances with over 400 of those at Crawley. 

The Club confirms that Dannie will be embarking on a beneficiary year to include several events to celebrate the midfielder’s career.  At the end of the 12 month period, Bulman will play his final game in Crawley colours during a testimonial fixture.  

Sutton United EFL Trophy Final

Sutton United are at Wembley on Sunday as they take on Rotherham in the EFL Trophy Final.

It is expected around 15,000 Sutton fans will travel to watch their team in their first Wembley visit for 41 years.

They are currently 10th in League 2, just three places above Crawley Town.

Kick-off is at 3pm.

Football: Crawley 1:2 Salford City

Play-off hopes for Salford increased with a 2-1 win over Crawley.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a goal from Brandon Thomas Asante.

Jordan Turnbull gave City their second goal of the game but Crawley’s Tom Nichols scored not long after.

However it was not enough to stop Salford City winning.

Crawley places 13th on the table.
