Crawley Town Football Club striker Tom Nichols has been nominated for the PFA Vertu Motors Fans Player of the Month award for February.
Nichols notched a brace against Stevenage in Crawley’s 2-2 draw with the Boro. A five-star performance away to Harrogate Town followed, where Nichols provided a brilliant assist for Nick Tsaroulla’s goal before finding the top corner himself with a glorious finish.
Nichols has been nominated alongside Jevani Brown (Exeter City), Omar Bogle (Hartlepool United), Dom Telford (Newport County), Davis Keillor-Dunn (Oldham Athletic) and Harry McKirdy (Swindon Town).
In League 2, Crawley Town had to settle for a point on Saturday, after a goalless draw against bottom of the table Scunthorpe.
Sutton United move back up to 3rd place following their 3-0 win over Rochdale at Gander Green Lane.
Despite losing 3-2 away to Dartford, Dorking Wanderers remain top of the National League South table.
And in the Isthmian League Premier Division, Merstham won 2-1 at home to Leatherhead, and it was a goalless draw for Horsham in their away match against Bishop’s Stortford.
Christopher Missilou’s second-half equaliser gave Oldham a much needed point in their fight against relegation from League Two in there game against Crawley on tuesday.
Hallam Hope scored the first goal in the second half but Ashley Nadesan twice less than 5 minutes later.
Victory was snatched from Crawley when Missilou took a shot off the post in the 70th minute.

A record number of local sporting heroes were celebrated at the annual Reigate & Banstead Sports Awards last week.
A record 83 nominations were received for 11 categories and were presented at a special ceremony at The Harlequin Theatre in Redhill. Sportspeople, coaches, and volunteers were among those highlighted as the borough’s best sporting talent.
Among the winners were Horley Cricket Club who were named Club of the Year, and the Team of the Year award went to Merstham Ladies Football Club.
Councillor Kanika Sachdeva was on the judging panel. She hopes to see more people get involved in sport in the borough.

The judging panel, made up of members of the RB Sports Council and Reigate & Banstead Borough Council spent several hours deliberating over the entries. After some tricky decision making, eleven worthy winners were chosen!
