Sport: Reds striker nominated for award

Striker Kwesi Appiah has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month award for October.

Kwesi scored all five of Crawley’s goals in the month of October, and as a result, has been nominated for the monthly award by the EFL.
Kwesi will go up against the following players:

Peter Clarke (Tranmere Rovers)
With his 40th birthday looming in January, Clarke is almost beyond veteran status, but what he lacks in youth is made up for in experience. That includes his heading ability, both at the back and at corners, from which he scored three goals in October.

Mitch Pinnock (Northampton Town)
Having recovered from illness, Pinnock regained full fitness and form in October combining vision, clever technical ability, speed of thought and superb delivery from the left and at set pieces to claim five assists and a pivotal role in two other goals.

Dom Telford (Newport County)
It was a month of transition for Newport in the dugout, but one to die for on the pitch for Telford. He contributed an assist and eight goals, including a clever shot on the swivel and a brilliant solo run against Carlisle, as well as a hat-trick against Stevenage.

The winner will be chosen by a panel at the EFL and will be announced on Friday 12th November at 6AM.
