SPORT: Yems criticises match officials

Crawley Town boss John Yems has hit out at the match officials following their 1-3 loss to Exeter on Tuesday.

Yems says he believes the decisions, which saw Asheley Nadesan sent off following a second yellow, were inconsistent throughout the game.

Speaking after the final whistle, the Reds head coach says he felt the decisions taken on the pitch spoiled the game, going as far as calling it a ‘farce’.

Yems added it made him feel liked getting on a plane to Malloca and living in a cave.

Football: Racism at Crawley Town v Sutton United Game

Crawley Town issued a warning over the public address system during their home defeat by Sutton United last Saturday.

It came after visiting defender Coby Rowe informed the officials he had been racially abused by home fans.

In a statement released after the match, Crawley asked for anyone with information to contact them or Sussex Police.

The club said that it finds all forms of discriminatory behaviour is totally unacceptable.

Football Update

In a local League 2 derby, Sutton United won 1-0 against Crawley Town on Saturday at the People’s Pension Stadium, taking them to 5th place in the table.  Crawley Town are in 12th place.

Horsham FC are through to the first round proper of the FA Cup following their 1-0 victory over Woking in the 4th qualifying round.  Dorking Wanderers held Hayes and Yeading to a 2-2 draw with a replay tomorrow evening.

Football: Crawley Town 1-0 Rochdale

Crawley Town moved closer to League Two play-off places after a 1-0 win against Rochdale.

The only goal of the game was scored in the 14th minute by Kwesi Appiah.

In the second half, Jack Payne almost scored a second goal for Crawley which clipped the top of the crossbar.

Crawley’s next game is against Sutton United on Saturday.

Football Update

Crawley Town are in 9th place in the League 2 table after winning 1-0 away to Rochdale on Saturday.  Sutton United move two places above them to 7th place after their 4-3 win against Port Vale at Gander Green Lane.

Merstham FC won their Isthmian Premier division match 3-0 away to Corinthian Casuals.  Horsham lost 3-1 at home to Potters Bar.

Two of our local teams’ FA Trophy run has come to an end in the second round. East Grinstead lost 4-2 on penalties at home to Waltham Abbey following their 2-2 draw at full time.  Three Bridges lost 3-1 away to Staines Town.
