Surrey had a very special visitor on Wednesday. A crowd gathered at Merstham and Reigate stations to see the Flying Scotsman as it travelled through the area on its Surrey Hills tour. Neil Munday was at Reigate Station and was lucky enough to see it in action.
SUSY Radio had a fantastic May weekend at the Heavy Horse and Country Show, broadcasting three hour live shows on both the Saturday and Sunday, bringing all the excitement and fantastic atmosphere from the show to the SUSY 103.4FM listeners.
On Saturday Izzie Brooks and Tracey Franklin joined the Neil Munday Weekend show to chat to people around the showground near Newchapel, Surrey. Highlights included the lovely Pink “Love u Keira” tractor, a snigging competition (it involves pulling a log) and a brilliant birds of prey flying display.
After the display Izzie caught up with Barry Ryder of Henfolds Birds of Prey and you can check out the interview here in this video:

On Sunday Sophie Slater and Annie Whitmore, with a little help from Neil Munday, were out and about at the show chatting to horse owners, dog owners, tractor owners and rather a lot of food stall owners. Probably a first for SUSY as they broadcast live from the back of a tractor parading around the main ring of the East Bysshe Cross Country Showground.

Many thanks to all those who chatted to us over the weekend and of course, to the South Eastern Shire Horse Association (S.E.S.H.A) for organising such a great event and making us feel so welcome.

Local bus company Metrobus has linked up with Susy Radio 103.4, through a sponsorship and advertising deal.
Commercials are currently being broadcast and the company is also sponsoring Susy Radio’s travel news bulletins for the next 12 months.
Programme Director, Geoff Rogers says: “We are delighted to have Metrobus on board as a major advertiser and sponsor. Susy Radio 103.4 and Metrobus both serve local communities across East Surrey and North Sussex, and this link between our companies is very much a case of two local businesses working together to serve those communities.”
Charlotte Bruce, Brand Manager of Metrobus commented: “We approached Susy Radio to promote our bus services and this newly established association is working well for both Metrobus and the radio station. More people living throughout the area are learning of the bus services, routes and special great value deals we offer.”
Geoff concludes: “Our discussions with the Metrobus team have been very pleasurable. We look forward to developing our relationship with our local bus company and hope that it continues long into the future.”
Paul Bower, Chair of the South Eastern Shire Horse Association (SESHA) spoke to David Jay on his tea break interview recently about the forthcoming Heavy Horse & Country Show at Newchapel.
This is taking place on Saturday and Sunday 21st & 22nd May.
