SUSY Radio introduces the Remembrance Service:
The full service as broadcast “Live” on the 9th November:
The highlights:
This year Susy Radio visited Horley to remember the fallen.
The centenary year of World War One but none the less all the fallen from many conflicts were remembered at 11am with the two minute silence.
Heavy rain on the Saturday meant the ground at 6am was sodden which prevented the Outside Broadcast unit being located as intended.
However quick thinking by our engineer and an onsite rethink saved the day with all the cabling installed in good time with a moment to link to the studio and complete a run through with presenter David Jay just after 9.30am.
The unit located on the roadside verge still allowed good access for pedestrians and remarkably had good vision of the proceedings.
The live broadcast commenced at exactly 1045am. For the next 56minutes David Jay became the eyes of the listener, story teller and narrator.
Many facts were mentioned as confirmed by local historians and societies, whose assistance was brilliant.
