Susy Radio Newsreader Completes Firewalk In Aid Of Surrey Hospice

A Surrey based hospice turned up the heat on Bonfire Night!  St Raphael’s hosted a firewalking event to raise funds to help run the care facility and asked people to brave their fears and take the challenge.  Susy Radio’s newsreader David Walker was one of 28 fundraisers who took part in the event facing burning temperatures of over 360 degrees Celsius:

Cliff Mann who runs firewalking activities from the organisation Time 4 Change spoke to the firewalkers as the the last participants completed the challenge:

The hospice was hoping to raise eight thousand pounds on the night but by the start of the evening they had already reached eleven thousand pounds.  Samantha Bourne is Events Fundraising Manager at St Raphael’s:

And you can find out more about what the hospice does for the community at straphaels.org.uk.
