Bank Holiday Weekend Football Update

It was a busy and somewhat dismal bank holiday weekend for our local football teams..

In league 2, Crawley suffered a 3 – 1 home defeat to Notts County on Saturday. The Reds will be looking to redeem themselves this evening in their match against Colchester whom they defeated in their last encounter in March,

In the Ryman Premier division, Merstham lost 3 – 0 at Leatherhead yesterday. This comes on top of their Saturday home defeat to Hendon by 4 goals to 3.

Meanwhile, in the Ryman Division 1 South, South Park had a good win beating Guernsey 3 – 0 at home following their 2- nil defeat at Sittingbourne on Saturday. East Grinstead had a poor bank holiday weekend losing 2 – nil at Hastings yesterday and 3 – nil at home to Carshalton Athletic on Saturday.

Slightly better news for Horley Town who lost 3 – nil at Epsom and Ewell yesterday but managed a 2 -1 home win against Hanworth Villa on Saturday.

Finally it was also a bad weekend for Redhill, who lost 4 – 2 at Worcester Park yesterday and 2 – 1 at Balham on Saturday.

Hope for Isaac

Three year old Isaac has cerebral palsy and last year had surgery in America on his spinal nerves. After the operation and intense physio he has built up muscles in his legs, can now sit in a normal chair and has learnt to climb stairs. His walking is being held back by the muscles in the top of his legs being too tight. “Hope for Isaac” is raising funds for Isaac to have hip adductor release surgery and continued physio.

Jade McSorley from Hope for Isaac came into the Susy Radio studio and spoke to Tess Lewsey – listen to the interview here:
