Horley High Street & Subway Improvement Plans on Display

Picture courtesy Reigate & Banstead Borough Council – some of the plans for Horley’s High Street improvements.

Plans for improvements to Horley High Street and subway are on display at Horley Library.

The designs are based on feedback to Reigate & Banstead Borough Council’s consultation on improvement ideas in the Spring.  The designs aim to make an attractive, accessible and greener town centre that reduces the dominance of the car.  Enhancements to the subway will tackle drainage issues, and will make it feel safer and better lit.

The display can be viewed at Horley Library until 12th September and on the Council’s website: www.reigate-banstead.gov.uk/info/20326/horley/1151/delivering_change_in_horley_town_centre/3

Further engagement on the more detailed designs is planned for the Autumn.

Photographs have emerged which now show the level of damage caused by a fire at a gym near Crawley.

Sussex police have launched an appeal for information into the incident at the Acorns Health and leisure Club, which they’re saying is suspicious.

Several fire crews were required to work on the blaze including ones from Crawley, Salford’s, Reigate and Godson.
The pictures show charred remains of the building, along with the roof which has caved in.

If you can assist the police with their enquiries, you are asked to contact them on 101.
