Surrey Police Fraud Warning

Surrey Police are urging carers, family and friends of vulnerable people to be on their guard, to help prevent their loved ones being exploited by fraudsters.

It comes after a 37% increase in courier fraud has been measured in the last twelve months, which is continuing to rise this year.

The warning comes as a new list of tactics used by fraudsters has been unveiled by the City of London Police.
Last year, 480 people were victims of courier fraud, with loses totalling more than £2million.

Crawley Funding For More Changing Places Toilets

A grant of £97,000 has been awarded to Crawley Borough Council to install Changing Places toilets at two popular venues.

The grant has come from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and will fund the installation of the toilets designed to support people who need assistance with facilities such as hoists and a large secure changing bench.  Without a suitable bench, many disabled people have the undignified and unhygienic experience of laying on the floor to be changed.

Changing Places toilets are already available at the County Mall Shopping Centre, and soon coming to the new Town Hall.  The newly funded toilets will be installed at K2 Crawley and The Hawth Theatre.

Maria Cook, Chair of Autism Awareness Crawley,  told Susy Radio about the difference the facilities will make:
